Exercises
If you are dedicated to your martial arts discipline, you will be attending classes twice or even three times a week. However, it is important to keep up your fitness and agility with daily exercises when not attending class. This blog is dedicated to exploring the various strength, balance, cardio and technique exercises that you can do at home, at work or in the gym. Depending on the style of martial arts you practice, certain exercises can be more beneficial than others. We take a look at what would suit your body, your style and your training program.
Strength Training
With just about every martial arts discipline, keeping your body strong and agile is key. Strength exercises play a major role in helping your body through the rigors of training and daily life. Here we will look at body weight exercises that use your own body as resistance to build a stronger frame.
Core and Technique Exercises
Core training is essential to keep your body grounded, and ready for anything. The great thing about core exercises is that you can do them will little or no equipment. Some of the exercises we will look at include flutter kicks, plank, spider plank, goblet squats, hollow rocks and boat pose.
If you want to improve your technique, there are loads of exercises that you can use like speed punches, squad kicks and tension kata to keep your mind and body focused. Balance is another key factor and we will look at plenty of balance exercises to keep you centred and strong.
